Are you Making a Costly Mistake That Keeps Entrepreneurs Stuck?

I’ve been implementing a key strategy that has greatly contributed to the success of my coaching business.  It’s not something taught in business school or in most coaching programs.  But it is a technique  that I emphatically stress to my platinum clients and to anyone who wants to raise their business to the next level.  And it is the entrepreneurs who follow this advice who are thriving.

Want to know what it is?

The key strategy is to stop running your business in the present.  Instead, run your business as you would like it be one year from now.  Follow these steps.

1) Visualize the business you want in one year. What kinds of programs, services and/or products will you have?  How many more people will you serve?  Your sales will increase by what percentage?  How much more profit will you make?   Map it all out and write it down.

2) Now, act as if you are already at that point in time. Focus on the team you will require to achieve that success.  Hire that assistant, the sales person, and the coach you need to get there.  Stop waiting for the success to suddenly appear.  Be proactive and invest in the team and the coach you need NOW, so you can create the success you want.

3)    Use this rule of thumb to gauge the cost of your team.  Plan to spend 10-15% of the gross income you want in one year- on your team now.  Trying to grow your business primarily on your own is a sure path to running in circles and burning yourself out.  The truth is you need both an excellent business coach AND the right amount of assistance to move forward powerfully.

4) “I can’t afford to invest in the team or coach I need” You can’t afford not to! Rework your budget in your personal life, or work with your coach on creative ideas to bring in more immediate income- so you can invest in what you really need.  You have to spend money to make money!

Shifting your mindset from where you are now to where you want to be in one year, and investing in the team and the mentor to help you get there, is essential to accelerate your business growth and reach your goals.  This shift not only helps in a multitude of practical ways, but your business actually becomes easier as it expands- and THAT is priceless!

    Great reminders Bria. Do you take monopoly money in the mean time? LOL. In my head I’m fabulously funded to take advantage of opportunities but reality is taking a while to catch up. Luckily it has only been 8 months since I started practicing this and I can still get there.
