There is one thing that keeps many entrepreneurs stuck in low-mid 5-Figures… money!  Isn’t it interesting that money beliefs might be keeping you from making a lot more money?

Here are three of the most common money myths that might be keeping you from reaching 6 figures.  Learn to change each of these myths into the truth that will pull you forward.

Myth #1- People who make a lot of money are greedy and selfish.

Many of us have this myth embedded in our psyche from our families.  The media certainly contributes to this saga.  It’s a belief that has been passed down across generations and likely sprouted from jealousy.

The truth is – money makes you more of who you are.  If you are greedy and selfish- more money will make you more greedy and selfish.  If you are heart-centered and loving- money allows you to be even more heart-centered and loving.  It’s as simple as that.

Money doesn’t change you- it liberates you to stand more powerfully in your authentic self.

Myth #2- You’re missing the point if you focus on money.

This is an incredibly common belief. Isn’t it fascinating that living our values (which we all agree is good) often costs money but we insist that focusing on “the money” is bad.  Think about it- your values might include giving to charities you care about, spending quality time with your family and friends, being generous with gifts, paying for your kids college, and so on.

You can’t do these without “the money”!  You can’t even spend quality time with your family without making good money- because if you don’t make enough money, you can’t pay your bills.  If you can’t pay your bills, believe me, you can’t focus on spending quality time with anyone!

When you fall into the trap of feeling that making good money is not a less than worthy endeavor, remind yourself of the truth- making great money allows you to enjoy freedom and live your values.

Myth #3-  I don’t have the talent or skills to make good money.

I know it can be difficult for many of you to transition into a powerful entrepreneur who makes a great income.  Women, in particular, start to ask themselves “Who am I to think I’m so great?”  (I hear this over and over and used to ask it myself).

It’s as if we have been taught to believe that keeping ourselves small is all we should ever do.

In reality, keeping yourself small denies others of learning and benefiting from your innate strengths and it denies YOU of fully enjoying your work AND the fabulous lifestyle luxury that can accompany becoming an expert in your field.

We are all born with unique strengths, passions and talents.  With proper training and mentoring, you can bridge the gap between where you are now and where you need to be- SHINING as a leader in your field and enjoying a great income so you can live your values and truly enjoy your life.
