I was struck by a fabulous quote at my yoga studio. It said something like “Peace is not the absence of chaos. Peace is the ability to be calm in the midst of chaos”. (Actually it was longer, I think I like this quote better:)
Isn’t it true? Peace is sometimes the absence of chaos. Like, right now, as I sit outside on my screened in porch amongst trees, birds chirping, sunshine and the tranquility of the North Carolina environment I love.
Peace is also staying centered when life around us goes crazy. You know what I mean. Especially those times in our lives, in business and otherwise, when people over-react and you just have to wonder… “Don’t you know that life is short? Does this really need to upset you as much as it does?” Those are the times I try to pull back and find my peace- even when others can’t find theirs.
And, of course, I have moments when I over-react as well. That is when I really need to reign myself in and practice what I preach- “Life is short. Stay calm. Everything can be worked out”.
May you enjoy a peaceful day- regardless of what is happening around you!

So true, I have that mug and constantly have to remind myself that peace starts within.
