We made it driving up from North Carolina to New Jersey. All five of us crammed in the car, several movies playing at once, ipods, video games, computers, some reading, and lots of junk food. A far cry from when our oldest (14) was the only child and we spent our car adventures serving only real food, reading to him, playing games and, of course, constantly striving to stimulate his brain with adult interaction and avoidance of all things plugged-in (which represented evil).
The funny thing is- all three of our kids are very happy, healthy, and well-adjusted- even the youngest who is raised with much more relaxed rules. Go figure.
